Happy 2017-2018 School Year!
I'm excited for this school year to begin!
I have been a teacher for Milwaukee Public Schools for 15 years, ten of which have been here at Golda Meir. I remember beginning my first year at Golda Meir. What I remember most is feeling so nervous, yet so excited and eager to learn; and learn I did! I have grown tremendously as an educator throughout my years. One of the most important lessons I have learned here is the importance and need to provide children with opportunities. Opportunities to learn, lead and grow. Opportunities to venture out beyond their comfort zones. Opportunities to try and fail...and then try again. Opportunities to make connections with each other, the community, and the world. I value personal connections and do my best to encourage my students to find the value in making connections as well. I want that my students feel they are heard, they are empowered and they matter to our community.
When I am not working, typically you can find me hanging out with friends or family...if I'm not there, check the Target! I love going to the movies; just the experience of being in the theater is enough to make me see any movie out there. Listening to a good song, that really can be a mood-altering! Feeling sad or cranky, just put on your favorite jam! I also love to play cards; Spades, Rummy, or Spite and Malice, I love them all!
My family is so very important to me. They are my world. My mom and dad have been married for 42 years. They love to bicker, and they love to laugh. My sisters, Cristina and Manda, mean so much to me. They are my sounding board for everything! And then there are my nieces. These three beautiful girls are the lights of my life. They make me smile every time I think of them. They bring me such joy.
